Target Audience
The target audience includes practicing robotically-trained surgeons, fellows, and physician assistants/nurse practitioners who treat and operate on patients with colorectal pathologies.

Course Description
The course focus will be to demonstrate through lectures, videos and live surgery, the value of robotic-assisted surgery for patients with colonic neoplasms or complicated diverticular disease. The emphasis will be on surgical technique and steps with demonstration of various intracorporeal anastomosis and natural of orifice techniques, indications and limitations.

Early recognition of anastomotic complication, prevention and treatment modalities will similarly be addressed.

Effective enhanced recovery strategies and perioperative pain management with goals of providing ambulatory colon resections with safety and minimal morbidity will be discussed.

Educational Objectives
Upon completion of the activity, the participants will be able to:
• Incorporate advanced robotic-assisted surgical technology and techniques for safe and effective colon resection performed purely laparoscopically.
• Recognize, diagnose and select the appropriate treatment modality for patients with anastomotic complications.
• Select the optimum surgical treatment for patients with complicated diverticulitis.
• Implement an enhanced recovery program into practice for patients undergoing colon resection.
